I always knew I wanted to start my own business, but I didn't know what in.

I wanted my son to have the best start in life, so in 2010, I opened up my own business from just an idea of mine called Divine Makeup. I was able to do this with the savings I had, and a loan from Finance Wales, which Business Wales helped me set up and from then I have enjoyed 7 years in business.

My advice would be to take action, take small steps at a time, set yourself goals and schedule your time and if you have a dream never give up!

Setting up my own business was scary, I had to do things I had never done before. Taking the steps to register with the HMRC was nerve wrecking, however, in order to set up, it had to be done. Every time I took what seemed to be giant steps, I realised it wasn't so difficult after all!

I have made great decisions and I have made mistakes, - at the beginning the biggest one was probably spending too much on things I didn't really need to spend on, but now I’ve learnt to look on how I could improve things either for free or as for as little as possible.

My advice would be to take action, take small steps at a time, set yourself goals and schedule your time and if you have a dream never give up!

I am where I am now by believing in myself, in growth and in the determination to succeed.

It's in all of us if we're willing to look deep enough.

You need a big reason why so I would advise to really think about what you truly want and then look at how you can achieve it. And when you get stuck, there is always someone who can help you with the answer!

I now have a beauty salon, and have developed my own online training courses for Sales & Marketing developed especially for all sectors of the Wedding Industry.
