Emma Wilkins - The Welsh Business Show

During my time in business, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with some amazing individuals whom have thought me, inspired me, and supported me through the good and bad. Without these people nothing would not have been possible.

Although I completed a degree in Law, I had always possessed a keen interest in business, and from a young age I had pictured myself running my own company one day. This inspired me to complete a Master’s degree in business and Law which I graduated from in 2009.

I enjoy the autonomy of being my own boss, in particular, I like possessing the ability to develop new ideas and purse new business ventures without having the need for approval or permission from anyone else.

Hindsight helps you to put right in the future the wrongs made in the past. Mistakes and misadventures are inevitable for new businesses, but providing that mistakes are learnt from, they are not always a bad thing to happen, and can in some circumstances be a good thing.

Since completing a PGCE in 2012 I now lecture Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at a top Welsh University which allows me to share my epistemic knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs.
