Congratulations to our winner, Sophie Plumley from Ysgol Gyfun Garth Olwg! 14 year old impressed our judges with her business ‘Run with Us’, (Llantwit Young Ladies Running club). Explaining her idea Sophie said ‘I want to give teenage girls like me a place where they can go when they've had a bad day at school or at home that has a focus on health, wellbeing and friendship. RUN WITH US is run by teenage girls for teenage girls.’

Dylan Allman – aged 13 – Monmouth School for Boys – OneWorld Computing -  Dylan’s business is about computer refurbishment, and at its heart is environmental sustainability, and harnessing computing power for good.

Elin Carter -  aged 13 – Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern – Peiriant Glanhau’r Môr -  Elin’s idea is to develop a biodegradable sea cleaning machine to help dispose of the terrible pollution and rubbish in the sea.  

Thio, Tolis and Thanasis Walters – aged 11, 9 & 7 – Ysgol Tanycastell – Blodau Brysur The brothers’ idea is to sell small honey jars containing wildflower seeds to plant, that will provide pollen and nectar for bees and insects and  help reduce their declining numbers.  

Cara Enlli Pughe – aged 9 – Ysgol Glantwymyn – Blodau – Cara wanted to make use of a flowerpress she received from her school. She loves collecting wildflowers, drying them, creating and framing various images, and then selling them to happy customers.

Martha Lewis – aged 10 – Ysgol T Llew Jones – Martha’s Treaty Cakes – During lockdown Martha started cooking and selling cakes to help her local community who were isolating and unable to go out to a café.


Thank you to our judges who are all business owners themselves: Elin Evans from Elin Angharad, Josef Roberts of Pai Language Learning and Ioan Inge from Akron Productions. The three were delighted to judge the Challenge and to see the competitors’ entrepreneurial spirit and the standard of their work. It was fantastic hearing about new ideas and ideas that have already proven to be successful! Well done all and keep at it!
