When entrepreneur Nigel Christo-Jones, owner of Taffs Equine Transport, a transport service for animals and a soon to be mobile operating theatre, wanted to offer job opportunities to people with disabilities, he got in touch with Business Wales and set to work on achieving this goal.
After speaking with his Disabled Peoples’ Employment Adviser, Nigel signed up for the Disability Confident Scheme and is tailoring his recruitment strategy, including how job adverts are written, so he can give others the same opportunities that he has had.
With Business Wales’ support, Nigel has also implemented new Equality and Diversity Policies and Environmental Policies, to reinforce the importance of making sure diverse and sustainable practices improve the working environment for his business, staff, and customers.
