How CFW Works
Construction Futures Wales (CFW) is the Joint Investment Strategy for the industry in Wales. It is a fully funded business support programme, jointly funded by Welsh Government and CITB. There is no capital funding available to purchase kit, equipment or training support; the funding is to deliver specialist consultancy support via contracted delivery organisations in line with the programme objectives.
The aim of the programme is to support Welsh companies to become more competitive, in order for them to win a greater share of the new work coming out and to win repeat business in the longer term. The programme empowers companies to become more competitive in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) in a safer working environment. The primary theme is that of economic development. Construction Futures Wales seeks to grow companies, to increase turnover and ultimately employ more people.
Are there any eligibility criteria?
To qualify for 1:1 consultancy support your company must be a Welsh company and needs to demonstrate has aspiration to grow, and also has the opportunity, capability and drive to grow. Ideally your company needs a T/O in excess of £500k and at least 10 employees. Additionally your company should have some management systems in place.
How can I access this support?
Simply log onto Construction Futures Wales and press the ‘apply now’ button to complete the online Basic Health Check. This takes about 4 minutes.
What happens then?
Should your company meet the criteria, you will be allocated a dedicated consultant who will contact you to arrange an appointment to get the ball rolling. The first stage you will go through is the Intermediate Health Check that is used to identify appropriate support for your company.
What if our company does not meet the criteria?
Your enquiry will be passed back to Business Wales to identify other forms of support more appropriate to your company. Additionally, you can still access all of the information on the Construction Futures Wales website and all companies are eligible to attend Construction Futures Wales informative breakfast briefings. You may wish to reapply at a later date if your company has moved on enough to meet the criteria.
