Leadership and Management Training
The Construction Futures Wales (CFW) Leadership and Management programme is tailored specifically for Construction. Led by Cardiff Metropolitan University, the CFW programme equips managers with the necessary skills to become proficient leaders.
The CFW Leadership development programme enables participants to:
- acquire strategic leadership and management capabilities to grow the business
- benefit from insights shared by leading construction firms via industry-specific events and case studies
- explore strategic management approaches that can be implemented to raise productivity
- drive their business forward, whilst gaining industry recognised qualifications
The programme is designed to meet the expectations of individuals at different stages in their career and a range of qualifications are offered ranging from Level 3 to Level 7. Achievement of a Level 7 qualification will also result in a Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Leadership). All qualification levels are jointly accredited by Cardiff Metropolitan University and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The programmes are delivered at venues throughout north and south Wales.
Core areas include - Leadership and Team Building, Lean Thinking, Project Management and Innovation, Supply Chain Management, Financial Resilience, Coaching and Mentoring, Management Performance, Marketing, Growth Strategy, Sustainable Construction and Building Information Modelling (known as BIM) Principles.
All courses are fully funded by the CFW programme.
What is involved?
The programme duration is 10 months and this is divided into 6, 2 day workshops. The first half of the programme is designed to acknowledge and develop your own leadership style through a series of practical workshops and individual executive coaching. In the second half of the programme, a series of Master classes are provided on innovation and new thinking on a variety of business themes.
However, the main objective of the CFW Leadership and Management programme is to get participants to develop a 3-year growth strategy for their business. Hence all the workshops and assignments are based around the needs of the business in driving sustainable growth. This is what makes this programme different from other leadership development programmes - it will provide sustainable results with tangible benefits.
Eligible applicants will need to complete a Pre-Application Form to provide details of their current educational qualifications and experience within a leadership/management role. This will be used to assess each applicants’ suitability for the course, based upon the level applied for.
All applicants will need their organisations to complete an application for the CFW programme of support before being accepted onto the courses.
