The CFW Level 5/7 in Leadership and management is a fully funded construction focused course aimed at aspiring leaders and managers in the construction industry. Led by Professor Brian Morgan at Cardiff Metropolitan University, the programme equips managers with the necessary skills to become proficient leaders within the construction industry to deliver profitable growth. The aim of the Programme is to improve performance in construction by providing opportunities for participants to increase their knowledge, expertise and competencies in the area of leading and managing teams. 

On successful completion of the programme, participants will achieve a Postgraduate Certificate (PGC) in Leadership & Management (Cardiff Metropolitan University) AND a Level 5 or Level 7 qualification from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).  

The programme runs over approximately ten months with six 2 day Workshops that will cover the following topics 

•    Visioning Leadership, Team , Mentoring and Coaching 
•    Innovation & ‘Principles of Lean Construction 
•    Competitive Advantage 
•    Finance
•    Management Performance
•    Principles of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
•    Sustainable Construction
•    Growing your business; developing a Strategic Growth Plan (SGP) for your business

Participants will also be allocated coursework throughout the duration of the course, directly related to their working role, and will be expected to write a Strategic Growth Plan for their business on completion of the programme. Some mentoring will also be made available to participants.
