The Anglesey Destination Management Plan sets the parameters for tourism development within Anglesey. The plan’s vision is that Anglesey will become:

A destination, internationally known for its beautiful coast, heritage and distinctive culture; easy to get to but rewardingly different. A family holiday destination and a market leader for outdoor activity tourism of all sorts. Plenty going on at all times of the year, whatever the weather, with a lively, living culture. A place that features in the media for the quality of its food, hospitality and interesting places to stay. An Island that cares for its natural assets and welcomes visitors.

Four strategic objectives have been identified for the Destination Management Plan:

  1. to promote Anglesey’s image and distinctive strengths
  2. to invest in product excellence
  3. to provide an outstanding experience
  4. to work together in partnership

Project example

One action point within the plan is to enhance and manage Anglesey’s coastal resource, including enhancing access to the coast, coastal management and the Coastal Path as well as protecting the rural environment and seeking European Charter for AONB.
