This is a competitive Call. We are looking for projects, which demonstrate real economic benefit for Wales. Collaborative projects, which could lead to the creation of new supply chains, are encouraged. Your project should be a stepping-stone for your future low-carbon vehicle ambitions.

Who can apply?
- Companies of any size can apply and partners do not have to be based in Wales
- Research organisations can apply to run collaborative projects with industry partners (some restrictions will apply)
- You can submit more than one application.
About Your Project
- We will support innovative, technical projects which align to the following Automotive Council Roadmaps for Low-Carbon Vehicles;
- Electrical Energy Storage;
- Electric Machines;
- Power Electronics;
- Fuel Cell;
- Lightweight Vehicle & Powertrain Structure
Funding will support:
- Technical and Commercial Feasibility to investigate the viability of transforming innovative ideas into new products, processes or technologies.
- Industrial Research to undertake practical research that will allow the development of a basic working model of a new product or process.
- Experimental Development to implement the results of industrial research including the development of a pre-production prototype of a new product or process.
About the Grant
- We anticipate that most applications will be up to £300k however, we will consider exceptional projects up to a maximum of £750k
- Grant intervention rates will depend on company size and the support applied for and will be governed by current UK Subsidy Control (State Aid) measures
