Innovation Centres at your service
Innovative and knowledgeable staff at Innovation Centre Wales have an impressive track record for turning business aspirations into reality. At our purpose-built food technology centres – incubation centres –you can get help with new product development, first time business advice and specialist training.
In them you can test new products for quality and manufacturing potential, set up pilot production, source packaging and get advice on labelling. You can use their processing halls and test kitchens. Staff will guide you through food legislation and regulations; improve or establish robust food safety systems; help with accreditation towards firming up contracts with retailers and caterers. They offer vocational and academic courses with recognised qualifications, and tailor-made training to meet current industry needs. In short, Innovation Centres Wales will ensure producers develop viable businesses with products that meet market place demands.
Helping you set up robust food safety systems
Maintaining environmental standards and establishing robust food safety management systems are vital to running a successful business. We can help with systems such as Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA), removing barriers when directly supplying retailers and caterers and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), which helps small food manufacturers identify food safety hazards. We also put you in touch with the British Retail Consortium, one of the UK's biggest trade associations and work with you to obtain accreditation to secure new or existing contracts with retailers.
