Digital Tuesday

In an ever more connected world, it’s not just traditional hardware solutions keeping the UK safe. As an increasing number of advanced multi-disciplinary threats are faced by the defence industry, organizations like the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and GCHQ are looking to the technology marketplace to equip them with agile, disruptive and non-traditional preventative and counter solutions.

Social media, artificial intelligence, big data, cyber security, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) and autonomous systems providers are now being actively sought and commissioned by the defence industry. This is opening up a multi-million pound opportunity for the start-up and scale up tech scene like never before.

On the 2 May 2017, the next Digital Tuesday event will explore and discuss this market place and help you navigate your way to new clients and revenue streams.

There will be expert speakers on hand including the ‘Defence & Security Accelerator’ from the MOD. The new organisation has been established to ensure innovative tech contributes to the defence and security of the UK. What’s more, recognizing the importance of the SME supply chain, they have agreed with the Cabinet a new 25% procurement spend target in this space by 2020.

The free event is taking place at the Innovation Point, Newport from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, to book a place please visit the Eventbrite website.
