The Transforming Towns package includes measures to increase footfall by making sure the public sector locate services in town centre locations, tackle empty buildings and land to help bring them back into use, and greening town centres.
Projects to redevelop and improve town centres or their nearby areas may be eligible for financial help from 1 or more of:
- targeted regeneration investment programme
- building for the future programme
- town centre loan fund
Examples of projects you may get support for:
- developing underused, empty or run down properties into businesses, housing, leisure facilities, commercial premises or community facilities
- improving the appearance of properties and/or reshaping them to make them more viable
- improving existing premises by introducing innovative services and connectivity, such as high speed broadband, which will attract businesses
