Progress for Success helps early years, childcare and play settings in maintained and non-maintained sector across Wales become more successful - by funding free staff training!
Looking after children is more than just a job - it's a really important career. That's why the Welsh Government has launched Progress for Success, a new programme to improve qualifications and skills held by the early years, childcare and play workforce.
The benefits of highly-qualified employees to your business
Progress for Success provides the funding for you to support your employees through work based training to achieve higher-level qualifications and skills. Through additional training you can improve your staff's skills, improve your business and deliver a higher-quality service in many ways.
Higher-level qualifications will help your staff to deliver a high-quality service to make sure that children's needs are fully met, and provide greater future educational opportunities for children. Highly qualified staff are also proven to be more productive, meaning your business will become stronger and more efficient.
Parents want the best for their children, so opinions of your business will spread fast. Make sure these are positive ones by making sure your staff are fully qualified for what their roles involves.
Studies show that investing in your workforce proves that you value them. It improves quality and loyalty, and staff will stay with you.
Welsh language skills
There are a number of benefits associated with encouraging your employees to improve their Welsh-language skills and carry out training in Welsh or bilingually (in English and Welsh). It will increase exposure to the Welsh language for the children in your care, it may attract new customers, and it could increase customer loyalty.
