UK Social Enterprise of the Year 2015

  • Company turnover is over £1 million a year

  • 84% of learners going on to secure sustainable employment

  • Last year, Vi-Ability increased income by over 70%, grown capacity from 3 to 16 full time members of staff and expanded into London in partnership with Nesta and the UK Cabinet Office.

Founded in Conwy, Vi-Ability was developed to address the problems of unstable football clubs and economic inactivity amongst young people. In offering innovative training courses and qualifications in commercial sports management, Vi-Ability has managed to transform sport clubs, changed thousands of young lives and helped to build stronger more sustainable communities across the world.

“Social Business Wales were at the start of the Vi-Ability journey, by helping us set up as a social enterprise. They have been a critical friend to draw on in times of need, to see us through inevitable growing pains and in turn has helped us continue to use sports as a starting point to motivate a generation to contribute to their communities.”
