It is expected that communities will increasingly have to take responsibility for assets or local services as a result of cuts to the public purse. In light of the above Arloesi Gwynedd are now working with communities to trial and learn about different models to transfer services to local residents. A number of communities in Gwynedd (e.g. Dyffryn Ogwen, Nefyn & Llanymstumdwy) face losing services such as libraries and the Lloyd George Museum unless the community take ownership of the buildings/services themselves. In order to ensure sustainability of the assets or services it is becoming increasingly clear that communities need to be able to identify additional income streams to sustain them in the long term.
