Social Housing - Pre Tenancy Training

This project will provide a detailed and sustainable training package for pre-tenancy and new tenants between the ages of 17 - 35 year olds. This age bracket has been chosen due to the single room allowance which affects those under the ages of 35. Between those ages, they are only entitled to 50 per week housing benefit in private accommodation and this will be applicable to social housing by 2018. The pilot project would see training specifically designed to better equip these people on how to cope with their current or future tenancy, what the landlord expects from them and vice versa, how to successfully live on a small budget, how to avoid unnecessary debts, what is classed as anti-social behaviour, how to prepare themselves for future training schemes and work and much more.
