Ynni Lleol Denbighshire Local Energy

We are looking to pilot an Energy Local Model in Denbighshire. The Energy Local Model aims to reduce energy bills for householders by directly supplying them with locally generated renewable energy. This should lead to reduced electricity bills for participants. The project is predicated on the difference between the wholesale and retail price of electricity. Renewable generators sell their electric for 4.9p/kW, whilst retails prices can be as high as 14p/kW. By supplying electricity directly to customers using the local grid infrastructure it is theoretically possible to supply cheaper electricity. The savings would come from not paying charges for using the National Grid infrastructure.
