Businesses across Wales have property that ranges from small farms to large department stores and building sites to big offices. Property crime is a category of crime that includes burglary, arson, motor vehicle theft and vandalism at the property or the wider working environment.

Vandalism

Vandalism is defined as the deliberate destruction of or damage to public and private property. With business premises, one of the most common forms of vandalism is smashed windows and graffiti.

Theft or damage to plant and machinery

Plant and machinery refers to things such as the machinery used in your factory, display counters in a shop and vehicles used for business purposes by yourself and your employees.

Farming and Rural Crimes

Rural crimes are defined as theft of farm equipment, machinery or livestock or a crime such as theft or burglary where the location of the crime was recorded as farm premises or premises associated with farms.

Theft of or from commercial vehicles

With many businesses employing the use of commercial vehicles, with shared use amongst a pool of employees common, commercial vehicles are vulnerable to theft and damage.
