Raising the bar in gymnastics apparel: The Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP) supports Quatro Gymnastics’ expansion plans

Quatro

The programme’s support has come at a perfect time as we embark on our next growth phase. The expertise of our relationship manager and business coaches has been invaluable in helping us scale efficiently and invest in our future.

Quatro Gymnastics, founded nearly 15 years ago in Swansea, has become a global leader in gymnastics apparel. Established by Joanna Vazquez, a former Welsh and Great Britain international gymnast, the company emerged from a demand for stylish, high-performance leotards, a market gap Joanna identified firsthand during her competitive years.

Quatro provides custom-designed leotards to over 100,000 customers in more than 100 countries. It has offices in Paris, Pennsylvania, and its headquarters in Fforestfach, Swansea.

As the company embarks on a new phase of international expansion, AGP has provided expert coaching and practical guidance to support this growth. Managing Director Joanna Vazquez explains how the programme’s timely support is helping Quatro navigate international trade challenges, optimise its digital presence, and prepare for future investment.

What role has the AGP played in Quatro’s journey?

Joining AGP in 2024 has been a game-changer for Quatro Gymnastics. As we focus on scaling our international presence, the programme's Relationship Managers and expert coaches have provided strategic guidance to ensure we make the right decisions at this critical stage.

Their support has been instrumental in key areas, such as refining our e-commerce strategy for multi-currency trading and optimising our online store, which is essential as we reach new markets.

AGP expertise has also been invaluable in helping us navigate post-Brexit complexities, particularly VAT compliance and international sales logistics. These challenges could have slowed our expansion, but with guidance, we’ve addressed them efficiently while strengthening our cash flow management.

Additionally, their input on brand strategy has helped us lay the groundwork for long-term growth, ensuring we are well-positioned as we expand into new product markets. The expertise of our relationship manager and business coaches has been a key asset in shaping our future.

What challenges has Quatro faced, and how has AGP helped overcome them?

Expanding rapidly brings challenges, particularly maintaining quality while meeting the needs of a global customer base. Since most of our sales are online, our e-commerce platform must handle multi-currency transactions and deliver a seamless customer experience. AGP’s evaluation of our website provided valuable insights that are helping us optimise our digital presence and drive sales.

Developing a strong brand strategy has also been crucial as we diversify our product range. The programme has supported us in shaping a clear strategy that will guide our expansion over the next five years.

Growing internationally has also brought legal considerations, including contract reviews and protecting our designs. AGP facilitated expert legal reviews to safeguard our intellectual property and ensure our brand remains secure as we scale.

What sets Quatro apart in the gymnastics world?

Our innovation and commitment to quality are evident in our products, which combine flexibility, durability, and comfort. These qualities have made our brand a favourite among gymnasts and federations alike.

We are passionate about extending our influence beyond elite athletes, and we champion grassroots development through initiatives like our “Lights, Camera, Sparkle” program. This global event connects young gymnasts with elite athletes and choreographers, inspiring the next generation to pursue their passion for gymnastics. Sustainability and inclusivity are also central to our vision. We aim to make gymnastics accessible and exciting for everyone, regardless of their level.

What are your plans for the future of Quatro?

With AGP’s ongoing support, we are focusing on accelerating our expansion and making strategic investments. Our long-term vision includes forging more partnerships with international federations, advancing our sustainability initiatives, and innovating in gymnastics apparel.

This is an exciting time for Quatro, and with the right support in place, we are confident in our ability to achieve our ambitious growth plans.
