Laser Wire Solutions (LWS) joined the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP) in April 2015. The company was seeking advice and investor opportunities as well as looking for support to plan and finance its growth.
Laser Wire Solutions provides laser cutting devices that are used in electronics manufacturing, primarily for the stripping of wires and circuits. It was established in 2011 by Paul Taylor and is based in Pontypridd. The company has nine members of staff and currently operates entirely on exports, supplying to markets ranging from medical to aerospace and defence.
Working in collaboration with our coaches and the support structures within the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme, we provided focus and direction to this exciting business. Our work included:
- A full analysis of available funding, securing venture capital investment, and connecting the company with business angels and grant funding
- LWS was supported with a collaboration strategy and corporate venturing, utilising AGP’s extensive network of appropriate contacts
- Secured process controls including ISO9001
- Secured job creation grants through Business Wales’ manufacturing sector team
- Introductions to several supportive financiers including Finance Wales, HSBC and an international group of high-net-worth investors
Laser Wire Solutions has ambitious growth plans for the future as it looks to expand globally in the medical device manufacturing market.
