Data protection and coronavirus – advice for organisations

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) recognises the unprecedented challenges businesses and organisations are facing during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and understands that organisations that use people’s data during the pandemic may need to share information quickly. Data protection will not stop you doing that.

The ICO six data protection steps for organisations sets out the key principles organisations need to consider around the use of personal information.

If you need help please visit the ICO website for further information.

The ICO have also produced specific advice for health and social care organisations during the coronavirus pandemic.
