Living wage week takes place from 15 November to 21 November 2021 and is the annual celebration of the Living Wage movement in the UK. The movement is made up of employers, experts, organisations and people who all believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
What are the business benefits of paying the real living wage?
- 58% of businesses say it improved relations between managers and their staff
- 75% say it has increased motivation and retention rates for employees
- 86% say it has improved the reputation of the business
The Living Wage rates are independently calculated based on the real cost of living in the UK and London.
The new rates for 2021/22 are:
- £9.90 per hour UK rate
- £11.05 per hour London rate
