WG Tourism Stakeholder Engagement - Privacy Notice

Your privacy is important to Welsh Government and in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) we have developed a Privacy Notice that covers why we collect and use your information. This privacy notice ensures that your personal data will be processed fairly and lawfully and in a transparent manner.

 

Section 1 – Purpose for collecting and retaining the personal data

We currently hold your contact information as a key stakeholder in the tourism sector and would like to continue to do so as part of Welsh Government’s Public Task and to benefit the economic development of Wales. This information includes contact details: individual information and business details where relevant.

 

Welsh Government, as data controller, engages with you as a tourism key stakeholder to provide you with information, highlight and invite you to relevant events, bring to your attention business development and cross-working opportunities that may be of benefit to you, or invite you take part in consultations or focus groups. For specific groups, you may be invited to join separately.

 

Section 2 - Who will have access to your data

Your information will be accessible only to Welsh Government Tourism Sector staff and those contacting you on behalf of Welsh Government for Tourism projects.

 

Section 3 – Document retention

All information you provide will be stored securely and used in full accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. 

With your consent Welsh Government will retain your details for 5 years and review them annually to keep them up to date. If you do not wish to continue to be in this stakeholder group please email quality.tourism@gov.wales.  

 

Section 4 - Individual rights       

You have the following rights:

  • To be informed of the personal data Welsh Government holds about you and to access it

  • Require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data;

  • The right (in certain circumstances) to object to or restrict processing;

  • The right (in certain circumstances) for your data to be ‘erased;

  • to (in certain circumstances) data portability

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who isour independent regulator for data protection.

Section 7 - Changes to this policy

The Welsh Government may make changes to this privacy policy at any time. Changes will be posted here and are effective immediately. When changes occur to this policy we will contact you on the email address we have recorded in your account to enable you to review the new version.
