Business Wales helped me start my own personal care business. They helped me every step of the way, including teaching me how to run a successful business through their online courses. They were there for the many questions I had about setting up a business in Wales as I am from Thailand originally and they helped build my confidence to start.
This business has enabled me to manage my time to work around my duties as a mother and business Wales was instrumental in this process. They helped me create a job around my passion for helping people which has helped me support and spend quality time with my family as well.
Sasiprapa Scobie, known as “Eye”, was able to start her own community enterprise, Hawthorn Support Services, a personal care service, after her application to the Barriers To Start Up Grant was successful.
Eye attended our webinar where she was informed and advised on a number of topics including business and financial planning and market research.
Following the webinar, she’s had several 1-2-1 meetings with a business adviser who helped her to feel confident and knowledgeable enough to apply for the grant and to start her business.
The Barriers To Start Up Grant has paid for a number of items which have greatly helped her with communication and compliance.
After discussions with her business adviser, Eye has expressed how important the grant and support has been to her in starting her own business, and she wants others to know that what she has achieved is also possible for them.
