Setting up my own business has been a huge learning experience for me and the support provided by Business Wales has been excellent. The Business Wales ‘Taking the Plunge’ course was a great opportunity for me to start mapping out my business ideas and get a real understanding of the many considerations that I would need to take account of. The regular meetings with Rob Davies at Business Wales have been invaluable in mapping the financial picture for the business especially during the current turbulent times, when expenditures and financial forecasts are so important.
With valuable support and guidance from Business Wales, Dan Lydiate has seen the realisation of his business ambition to set up a Free-Range Organic Egg business at his family farm in Abbeycwmhir, Mid Wales.
The business, No6 Egg Company Limited, is now fully operational and is producing 1000’s of top-quality free range organic eggs each week which end up on the supermarket shelves of Waitrose and Marks & Spencer.
Dan received support upon attending a ‘Taking the Plunge’ course delivered by Business Wales adviser Carla Reynolds, which provided an introduction to the first steps in setting up and running his own business, including useful information sheets and templates as well as guidance on key areas to consider, such as how to register his business, the appropriate insurances, and how to undertake market research.
Business adviser Rob Davies also offered Dan expert support, who gave his time and expertise to help set up an accurate financial plan and cash flow spreadsheet for the business.
