The Landfill Disposals Tax Communities Scheme (LDTCS) scheme is a grant funding programme to help communities living within five miles of certain waste transfer stations or landfill sites take action for their local environment.
The scheme is now open for applications for main grants of between £5,000 and £49,000 and a ‘nationally significant’ project with a value of between £50,000 and £250,000.
The fund will be open to any organisation for projects focusing on one or more of the following themes:
- Biodiversity – create resilient ecological networks for the benefit of a range of habitats and species.
- Waste minimisation and the diversion of waste from landfill – promote awareness and best practice to reduce the amount of waste produced.
- Wider environmental enhancements – bring wider community benefit through improving quality of place.
For this round of LDTCS, there are two deadlines, this will enable applications to be assessed promptly when received.
- If you would like your application to be considered as part of window 1, please submit it by 20 December 2024.
- If you would like your application to be considered as part of window 2, please submit it by 7 February 2025.
