Consultation on ZEV mandate and CO2 emissions regulation for new cars and vans in the UK

The Welsh Government wants your views on new regulations to set new annual zero emission sales targets for cars and vans across the UK.

The Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate will create targets for new cars and vans that emit zero greenhouse gas emissions at the exhaust between 2024 and 2030. The proposed mandate would operate as a trading scheme under the Climate Change Act 2008.

This is a joint consultation, published by the UK Government, Scottish Government, Welsh Government and the Department of Infrastructure for Northern Ireland.

Consultation ends: 24 May 2023.
