The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has launched a period of public engagement to seek views on how the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) can remain a ‘gold standard’ trade agreement.

The UK signed up to the vast CPTPP trading group last July, kickstarting the UK’s membership of a trade deal spanning 12 economies across Asia, the Pacific, and Europe when the UK accedes.

DBT are now seeking views from businesses and individuals on how the deal could be enhanced through this General Review process.

The closing date for submissions is 22 February 2024.
