With a focus on building a more inclusive film and television industry, Disney and The National Film & Television School are looking for six experienced writer and director teams with diverse and varied perspectives, with at least one person in the team being from an underrepresented background, to make a short film as part of the Disney Imagine UK Shorts Incubator programme.
Disney Imagine UK is an opportunity to make a short film with creative support from Disney executives which will have potential to premiere on Disney platforms, feature in a showcase event, and be submitted to international festivals.
Each team will receive a £25,000 production budget with equipment and facilities provided for free by the NFTS. In addition participants will benefit from a training programme comprising seminars and mentoring with a view to addressing inequalities for all under-represented backgrounds under the Equality Act 2010 and in relation to social inequalities by providing access to support and mentoring.
This is an opportunity for emerging distinctive and original filmmakers to build on their strengths and increase the scale and ambition of their work.
