The UK’s sanctions framework is changing, existing EU sanctions regimes are being transitioned into UK law through regulations made under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018.
EU sanctions will no longer apply in the UK from 11pm on 31 December 2020.
The UK Government is hosting a series of webinars to help you understand how the new legislation and processes might affect your work, and what you will need to do to ensure compliance with regulations. Webinars for the Finance, Legal and NGO sectors, have already taken place there will be a further 3 sessions for the following:
- Energy sector – Tuesday 17 November, 1pm to 2pm - Register here

- International trade sector – Thursday 19 November, 9am to 10am - Register here
Speakers will include representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, HM Treasury, Department for International Trade and other government departments.
You will be given the opportunity to ask questions to help you prepare for the end of the transition period.
