The UK Government has launched a consultation on whether to extend licensing hours at premises in England and Wales during the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2026 semi-finals and final should any of the home nations (Wales, Scotland, England or Northern Ireland) reach those stages.
The consultation is aimed at members of the public, local licensing authorities, licensed premises and other interested parties in Wales and England where these proposals apply.
The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 15 January 2026.
