Funding and support for Black-owned businesses

Applications for The Black Business Fund are now open.

In recent years, many food and drink businesses have been under pressure, with Black-owned businesses facing particular challenges.

NatWest has highlighted the significant barriers Black-owned businesses encounter when trying to access finance. Be Inclusive Hospitality has found that Black workers are most likely to highlight ethnicity as a factor in hindering their career progression.

The Black Business Fund is back for its fourth year to help. Black-owned restaurants with fewer than five locations that have been trading for more than 12 months can apply to win a grant to help give their business a boost.

Twenty-five restaurants will each receive £10,000, with at least half the grants going to businesses outside London.

The closing date for applications is 12 December 2024.
