Get ready to register your visitor accommodation in Wales

Tyddyn Isaf camp site.

The law is changing and if you take bookings for overnight stays in Wales you’ll soon need to register with the Welsh Revenue Authority.

Who does this apply to?

It applies to anyone who takes bookings for overnight stays, from informal hosts to professional providers, spare room to hotel room. Whether guests stay one night or several weeks, the requirement is the same. If you take bookings for visitor accommodation, you must register.

What do I need to do?

Visitor accommodation registration opens in autumn 2026. Get ready, by signing up to get notified of any updates including reminders when registration opens.

The Welsh Revenue Authority are running webinars to help you prepare for the changes.
