Living wage week takes place from 14 November to 20 November 2022 and is the annual celebration of the Living Wage movement in the UK. The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 10,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs - like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.
What happens in living wage week?

- Raise awareness of the Living Wage in press and social media
What are the business benefits of paying the real living wage?
- 86% say it has improved the reputation of the business
- 75% say it has increased motivation and retention rates for employees
- 64% say it has helped differentiate themselves from others in their industry
- 58% of businesses say it improved relations between managers and their staff
The Living Wage rates are independently calculated based on the real cost of living in the UK and London.
The new rates for 2022/23 are:
- £10.90 per hour UK rate
- £11.95 per hour London rate
