The Bank of England’s new polymer £50 entered circulation on 23 June 2021. It features the scientist Alan Turing. The new note will start to become available in bank branches and at ATM’s in the coming days and weeks.
The polymer £50 note contains advanced security features. The note will join the Churchill £5, the Austen £10 and the Turner £20, meaning all Bank of England banknotes are now available on polymer.
There are resource materials for businesses to help check banknotes including downloadable posters, booklets and leaflets available in Welsh and English.
