Race to Zero event

Following the success of the Race to Zero, Europe – Countdown to COP26 event that took place in October 2021, businesses now have the opportunity to join a unique workshop, exploring how businesses can meet the ambition of net zero through the lens of the Climate Champions’ 2030 Breakthroughs and the Glasgow Breakthroughs, launched at COP26.

The workshop will bring together both SMEs and larger businesses, with expert policy advisors, researchers and NGO officials, to discuss opportunities to achieve breakthroughs in the innovation and deployment of clean technology across sectors within Europe, as well as remaining barriers.

The workshop will be interactive, informative, and collaborative. The event will start with an insight into the outcomes of COP26 and priorities for the UK Presidency year, followed by an introduction to the Breakthrough Agenda and how both countries and businesses can come together to accelerate the clean technology transition through the Glasgow Breakthroughs and 2030 Breakthroughs respectively.

The majority of the event will allow time for attendees to share ideas and intelligence with other businesses in their sector. Breakout discussion sessions will be facilitated to further explore the barriers faced by businesses and identify opportunities within particular sectors, sharing best practice where this is already being done.

The breakout groups will focus on the following sectors;

  • clean power
  • land use and agriculture
  • built environment
  • transport
  • SMEs

The workshop is free and will take place online on the 24 February 2022 at 12pm to 2pm.
