The Welsh Government has established a fund to support the residential outdoor education sector in Wales with an initial allocation of £2 million. This fund will provide eligible centres across Wales with support to cover essential operating costs during the period June to September 2021. The fund will have a capped maximum grant of £45,000 per successful applicant.
In order to gauge the likely eligibility and take up of the fund, we are requesting that those organisations that may be eligible for support and who wish to apply to complete a short expression of interest form. Organisations completing the form will be notified directly when formal applications for funding are being invited.
Organisations include:
- Education centres that utilise the outdoors to engage and educate young people.
- Outdoor education centres that delivered at least 50% of their educational residential experiences to young people before March 2020.
- Residential outdoor education centres operating in the public sector (not owned or sponsored by Local Authorities).
