World Food Safety Day is on Tuesday 7 June 2022 and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) are launching a campaign to inform food businesses about maintaining hygiene standards, so that food is safe for consumers, and to ensure that businesses are prepared for their inspection.
Since the start of the pandemic, local authorities have seen a drop in compliance with food safety standards, in part due to ongoing staff recruitment and retention issues.
The FSA are keen to remind businesses of their responsibilities and to offer helpful tips and advice on how to improve their internal procedures.
