Following the publication of Census 2021 results on the Welsh language, the Welsh Government are collaborating with the Office for National Statistics to explore data on Welsh speakers outside Wales. Currently, there are limited data available, and we are seeking to better understand user needs in this area.
As the population is becoming increasingly mobile, there is a greater need for improved insights. We invite you to share your views on any data you think is needed and its potential uses. Your feedback will help ensure any data collected would be relevant and useful.
The survey closes on 5 May 2025, with initial findings available by the end of the year.
