Stop Food Waste Day is the largest single day of action in the fight against global food waste and takes place on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
Food waste is a global issue with a wide variety of environmental, social and economic impacts.
The aims are to:
- Prevent global food waste at the source by storing food optimally, making use of every edible part of the ingredient and planning meals ahead of time.
- Inspire everyone – friends, colleagues, local communities, to reduce food waste and repurpose more.
- Repurpose food by giving a second life to ingredients that most commonly go to waste, or by redistributing surplus food to your local community.
