The UK offshore wind industry needs investment in onshore and coastal infrastructure. To address this, a £50 million Supply Chain Accelerator fund has been set up to enhance the UK's offshore wind supply chain.
A £10 million initial funding round is open for UK projects supporting floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea. Applications will close on 30 July 2024. Successful projects will be announced from October 2024.
The Accelerator offers up to £1 million in matched funding per project to help UK supply chain projects become "investment-ready". It also includes an option to participate in the capital investment phase of projects that are taken forward.
An additional £40 million is reserved for projects identified in the Industrial Growth Plan, aiming to triple offshore wind manufacturing capacity in the next decade.
