Over the summer, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) will hold a second series of roundtables throughout the UK on the UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) regime.
The Cardiff events take place on the following dates:
- Wednesday, 2 August 2023 – Morning
- Wednesday, 2 August 2023 – Afternoon
- Thursday, 3 August 2023 – Morning
The roundtables are a chance for Welsh businesses to highlight any issues they may have with the UKCA marking regime (both imports and exports), as well as a chance to facilitate further policy development on UKCA.

Once you have registered, DBT will send a formal invitation to confirm attendance, with details of the venue, an agenda and questions to reflect on prior to the roundtable. If DBT are unable to accommodate all interested attendees, they will look to arrange further opportunities for input, including through virtual events.
Conformity Assessment Costs Survey
DBT have also opened a business survey to understand the costs of conformity assessment. The questions in this survey are separate to the roundtables. If you represent a business which manufactures, imports, distributes or sells manufactured goods, DBT would really appreciate if you could also complete this. At the end of the survey there is an opportunity to provide feedback on UKCA as a whole and its implementation.
Completion of the survey should take approximately 10 to 20 minutes. If you cannot answer all questions in this survey, you can forward the survey link to colleagues in other roles to complete the unanswered questions.
The survey will be open from 13 July 2023 until 3 August 2023.
