The Welsh Government have launched the Wales National Travel Survey.

The survey will collect data on travel attitudes and behaviour from people living in Wales. This information will be used to strengthen our transport evidence base, helping us make better decisions that meet the needs of transport users. It will allow us to track progress towards our Net Zero targets, such as increasing walking, wheeling and cycling and public transport usage.

Transport for Wales (TfW) has engaged the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) to deliver the survey over the next three years.

Further information about the survey development is available on the Transport for Wales website.

The Wales National Travel Survey is available to complete in Welsh or English, either online or via a face-to-face or telephone interview with a NatCen interviewer. Around 15,000 households will be randomly selected to be invited to take part annually. The survey is designed to be representative of all adults aged 16 or over living in private households in Wales. Data will be collected continuously throughout each survey year to reflect seasonal travel patterns, with a new batch of respondents invited to take part every week. The results will be published annually at both national and regional level by TfW.
