The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which came into force in April 2025, imposes a duty on anyone who publishes reviews or review information to take effective steps to prevent and remove from publication:
- fake or concealed, incentivised reviews
- false or misleading review information
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) recently carried out a web sweep of over 100 businesses that publish consumer reviews. The results have raised concerns over businesses’ understanding of their obligations around the prevention of fake and misleading reviews and review information.
This webinar is to help businesses that publish customer reviews understand what they need to do to comply with new legislation relating to fake or potentially misleading customer reviews.
The webinar takes place on Thursday 4 September 2025, from 2pm to 3pm.
Registration closes at midday on Wednesday 3 September 2025.
