If you get income from self-employment and/or property, you’ll legally need to use Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax from the following dates:
- 6 April 2026, if your turnover is over £50,000 in the 2024 to 2025 tax year
- 6 April 2027, if your turnover is over £30,000 in the 2025 to 2026 tax year
- 6 April 2028, if your turnover is over £20,000 in the 2026 to 2027 tax year
