The World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every year on 26 April.
The theme for 2023 is “Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity” and celebrates the “can do” attitude of women inventors, creators and entrepreneurs around the world and their ground-breaking work.
Women in all regions are shaping the world through their imagination, ingenuity and hard work, but often face significant challenges in accessing the knowledge, skills, resources and support they need to thrive.
Are you a woman inventor, creator, or entrepreneur?
World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is committed to moving the dial on the participation of women in the IP system.

Supporting Women in Wales
The Welsh Government recognises and supports the importance and contribution that women entrepreneurs make to the economy of Wales, however, there is more to do to continue this journey and further develop the representation of women owned businesses in Wales. Our Business Wales service is therefore renewing its commitment to support and encourage more women to successfully start, sustain or grow their business in Wales and reach their full potential.
