MIT in Wales – Could your business benefit?

You could have the opportunity to draw directly on the world leading knowledge and expertise of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); one of the world’s top research and academic institutions, renowned for excellence in fields such as Technology, Engineering, Sciences and Leadership.

Covid-19 has had a huge impact on us all, and the business community has felt this more than most. However, it has also undeniably placed us on a bullet train into the future and the uptake of new technologies is accelerating and an unprecedented rate. Many have seized this opportunity to explore new ways of doing things which will put them in a position to bounce back stronger than ever post-Covid19. The Welsh Government (WG) is keen to support you on this journey, connecting you to some of the world’s leading minds at MIT as you navigate this uncertain future with greater assurance that the decisions you take now will be sustainable, and have long-term benefits.

This may include exploring the opportunities to transform what your business offers and how it operates through current and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Virtual reality (VR), Robotics and Automation. You may find the assurance that your business is well prepared for the future, or you may uncover some new ways to innovate and address challenges facing your business, like Brexit, or those facing the wider world such as climate change and decarbonisation.

MIT’s Industrial Liaison Program

In 1948, MIT established the Industrial Liaison program (ILP) to bridge the gap between research and industry, this has resulted in collaboration and relationships with businesses around the world from, start-ups to global corporates including many familiar names such as Apple, Intel, BP, Hewlett Packard, General Electric (GE) and Samsung.

Through WG ILP membership you too could have access to a range of resources such as webinars, conferences and tailored workshops to help you make the best decisions for your business, informed by leading research and global thought leaders.

The best bit is that it’s free! The WG membership of ILP means that your business can engage with MIT through a range of online formats at no cost.

If you’re still not sure, why not watch some clips of previous MIT speakers who have delivered sessions exclusively for Wales:

Fiona Murray – an international expert on transforming investments in scientific and technical innovation into ‘innovation-based entrepreneurship’ that drives jobs, wealth creation, and regional prosperity.

Phil Budden – a Senior Lecturer at MIT's Management School, in Sloan's Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic-management Group, where he focuses on 'innovation-driven entrepreneurship' (IDE) and innovation ecosystems.

Nelson Repenning – The School of Management Distinguished Professor of System Dynamics and Organization Studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Stay in touch – We would like to hear from you!

Due to Covid-19 the Welsh Government’s ILP membership has been extended until August 2022.
