Ramsay and White, a leading property finance firm based in South Wales, is utilising the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme to hire and train new staff.
Specialising in property finance for investors, the company has seen significant expansion since it was founded in 2018 driven by young people coming through the business. Smart recruitment has helped the company’s growth through a focus on investment in employee development.
Recruitment and training have been made possible by support from the Welsh Government-funded Jobs Growth Wales+ programme, which is aimed at bringing in new fresh talent to futureproof their business.
The Welsh Government provides support to businesses recruiting and training staff, and businesses in Wales can receive up to 50% of each young person’s employment costs through this programme for the first six months.
Paul Davies, Managing Director at Ramsay and White, said:
Our business has grown organically, with many of our younger team members starting without any industry experience. We’ve trained them to become mortgage advisors, financial advisors, and case managers. The Jobs Growth Wales+ programme has been instrumental in this process, allowing us to provide the necessary training and support.
The programme has also supported our recruitment efforts. This has been particularly beneficial for our younger employees, who have shown huge growth and development since being taken on through the programme.
Rachel Morley, Partner at Ramsay and White, has also been the main driver in supporting the young recruits coming through Jobs Growth Wales+, and progressing on to apprenticeships. She continued:
We’ve had individuals come through the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme and move on to apprenticeships, and many have become permanent employees.
The training has been life-changing for many of our employees. It has given them the chance to build their careers and grow within the company. We’ve seen individuals progress from case managers to partners, thanks to the support provided.
The potential for growth within the company is massive. Employees can pursue qualifications to become brokers or move into management roles. This has given Ramsay and White the opportunity to offer individuals not just employment, but a career.
Rachel Morley concluded:
I started as a case manager like our latest recruits did. I didn’t think anything of it, and I just thought it was a job for six months. Now, I sit here as one of the partners at Ramsay and White. The potential is massive when you get into the industry, and the programme has been life changing, giving young people the chance to build their careers and grow within the company.
