Success stories

Pure Serendipity Florist Ltd

“Business Wales helped me start my own business during difficult times, the support is amazing.”

Missing media item.

Starting a new business can be daunting, but with our Business Wales team's in-depth start-up support, Melanie Freeman found the confidence to begin building her floristry business in Swansea.

To gain a good understanding of self-employment, Melanie was given one-to-one support by her advisor, informing her on all aspects of running a business. To fund the initial set-up of the business, she was advised to apply for the Barriers to Start-Up Grant for 25-year-olds and over. She received support writing a business and financial plan, ensuring she successfully gained the funding.

The newly formed floristry business is now trading as Pure Serendipity Florist Ltd. To ensure the business is taking proactive sustainable steps, Melanie has signed up for the Green Growth Pledge, keeping waste to a minimum and using recyclable packaging materials where possible.
