Grug Evans is a 24-year-old from Montgomeryshire who graduated from Bangor University in 2023 with a 2:1 in Business and Marketing. Now working as County Adviser for Carmarthen and Glamorgan with the NFU, Grug Evans supports members with a wide range of farming matters, including appeals, scheme queries, County meetings, farm visits and stakeholder engagement, while also contributing to marketing and communications activity when required.
Before joining the NFU, Grug Evans worked with Farming Connect, supporting technical projects, local events, discussion groups and building strong links with farmers and rural businesses in the process.
A key part of the family business is Cutiau Cwm Canada, a diversification venture established in 2023 offering accommodation in a shepherd’s hut on the farm. In 2026, the family is building a second hut and using social media to share the journey, promote the business and showcase the beauty of rural Wales. Grug Evans is keen to continue developing the business creatively, expand its reach and explore new products, services and collaborations that will help it grow into a distinctive and innovative rural tourism enterprise.
